To thrive in this high-pressure role, you need to become eloquent in the language of the business. This naturally helps align cyber resilience strategy with business goals, setting you up for success.
Secondly, recognise that the skills that got you to this point may not guarantee success as a c-level executive. At this level, the ability to win friends and influence people become even more essential. Spend considerable amount of time meeting with key stakeholders – COO, CFO, CRO, Legal Counsel, Product Development, Marketing etc. Understand their priorities as we all as their major concerns, then find time to replay that cyber focused cyber story.
